In the second part of Witch Hunt<\/em>, Veils are repaired, dwarves are (sort of) involved, I follow weird lights, and Finn gets worried about moral grey areas while Roslin thinks, “Dude, I’ve been in a constant state of moral ambiguity for fucking years<\/em>.” Intrigued? Then it’s time for Mark to play Dragon Age: Origins<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Witch Hunt – Part 2<\/strong><\/p>\n

I haven’t said it in a while, so:<\/p>\n

Y’all, I love Dragon Age<\/em> so much.<\/p>\n

I’m so obsessed with this style of game that I’ve been on the hunt for an iPhone action RPG to keep me company during my many BART\/MUNI rides. (I’m taking recommendations! Also, Pocket RPG is INCREDIBLE and kinda re-invents the rules of a stat-based RPG in a really awesome way. Well worth it!) I know nothing is going to stack up against it, but it’s agonizing<\/em> that I can’t just sit and play through Dragon Age: Origins<\/em> again and shirk all my worldly responsibilities in the process. IT IS OPPRESSION.<\/p>\n

Okay, it’s not, but god, WHY AM I RESTRICTING MYSELF TO AN HOUR. This is all my fault. The story in Witch Hunt<\/em> is so fascinating, and I need<\/em> to find out what the hell is going on and what the hell Morrigan is doing looking for pieces of a mirror<\/em>. What can that mirror do???<\/p>\n

First things first! I WAS SO EXCITED TO SEE THIS ON THE MAP:<\/p>\n

You mean I get to go back<\/em> to Cadash Thaig? YES PLEASE. Are there Dwarves hanging around??? Well, I didn’t get to find out immediately, as I had to go to the Elven Ruins first, where Finn expressed his jealousy at Adama since Adama gets to pee wherever he wants.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

For real, he brought it up to Ariane multiple times<\/em>. Okay, dude. Keep that to yourself, maybe? Also, you’re dude, YOU CAN<\/em> PEE WHEREVER YOU WANT.<\/p>\n

There were a lot of infected elves here, and unfortunately, you couldn’t spare them. They all died! Aw, that sucks. But I did manage to pick up some Stamina Draught in a few chest. This isn’t fair! Why wasn’t this around in the normal game??? Oh god, I kept using it so that Roslin could Whirlwind and Double Buttstab the fuck out of these infected elves. It’s so satisfying! We recovered a piece of the broken Eluvian, and Finn could not stop talking. That boy is excited<\/em>. All of the time! Hell, when we got to Cadash Thaig, there was a point where I just shouted “PAY ATTENTION, ASSHOLE” because he kept talking. Oh, and then he mentioned that in order to find what we needed in Cadash Thaig, we needed some of Ariane’s blood.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I’m right there with you, Ariane. What the fuck are you talking about, Finn???<\/strong> He explains: in order to find where the Arlathan Lights are hidden, we need to use her elven blood to activate\u2026 magic? Well, it wasn’t quite<\/em> blood magic, but it existed in some moral “grey area,” he said. Oh, honey, I’m so used to those by now. Anyway, he explained it better than I could. Basically, it allowed me to use those weird splotches of light to get clues to where the Arlathan Lights were! Which is awesome, unless you’re me and you fundamentally misunderstood what it is you were supposed to be looking at. I spent twenty minutes generally<\/em> following the direction of the orbs of light, each which led me in the general<\/em> direction of another patch of light and to many darkspawn enemies, all of which got me to the very end of Cadash Thaig, where I found no Arlathan Lights at all<\/em>. I checked my quest notes. Yeah, this is what I was supposed<\/em> to do. Then how come I didn’t find anything?<\/em><\/p>\n

Because I’m a fool, that’s why. WELP. I went back and sat in the nearest light thingy for a good 20 seconds and realized the orbs were leading me to direct spots on the map<\/em>. Then Ariane’s blood would activate the magic, the Lights would appear, then<\/em> the Guardians would, and I felt really silly that I wasted so much time being ridiculous. HEY, I CAN’T UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING THE FIRST TIME.<\/p>\n

Upon retrieving the Lights, I was bummed that I ran out of time because my next stop was the Dragonbone Wastes. I got one glimpse of the place before I saved my game:<\/p>\n
